This piece is about (among other things) the
conception performance and perception of music.

Checkmate
copper, marble
This combines a chess theme with a meditation on the complexities of social relationships. |

 Masks
upper left bronze, others copper
These masks were first sculpted in wax. The bronze (upper left) was then cast with a standard
lost wax process. I used an electroforming process similar to copper plating and a simple hammering process
to make the other three |

Organic Music
steel, copper, abalone
25" x 9" x 7"
The result of finding an old guitar in the attic, this is an attempt to sculpt
the music that is "inside" the old instruments we've played since childhood. |

Angel
copper, brass, steel
9.5"x9"x1" |

Fragment 2
copper
24" x 12" x 6"
The "skin" of this piece is made of very thin electroformed copper. I was
hoping to portray the subject's strength (by sculpting her in metal) but
also her more vulnerable, fragile qualities (by the thinness of the media).
Electroforned copper is quite dense, so you don't have to create a thick
surface to get a solid piece.

Highbeam
steel
15" x13" x4"
This piece contrasts the subtlety of the human body with the simplicity and bluntness of the steel. | |
Fragment 1
electroformed copper
18" x 14" x 7"

This is about trying to remember the face
of someone you've almost forgotten. |
